I want to come from the heart. Write good songs. Play good songs. Be appreciated. Earn a living and still be true to my art. Musicians know the story all too well. You practice for hours each day, struggle to get it right and then you find a gig and play for a meal and a few tips and wonder why you are doing this. The music is who you are and not playing is like not scratching that itch.
